To be a Christian means you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a result of accepting Him as your personal Savior. Do you know for sure if you've accepted Jesus as your personal Savior?

If not, you will find the following truths helpful in understanding this important subject.  These truths are taken from the Holy Bible.

1. We have all sinned.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

God's Word reminds us that we all have sinned.  The word sin means to miss the mark.  At one time or another we have all deliberately chosen to disobey God.

2. Sin has a penalty.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23

A wage is a payment.  The payment for your sin is death and separation from God in a place that the Bible calls hell.

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death." Revelation 20:14

3. Jesus paid the penalty.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8

The word commendeth means proved.  God proved His love for you by giving His own Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins.

4. Believe on Jesus today.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Romans 10:9

To believe on Jesus Christ as Savior means to believe that He died for you, paid the price for your sin and that He is the only way to heaven.  You can express your belief on Jesus by calling on Him in prayer.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

5. Pray sincerely...

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that the Bible is your word.  I know that you are God.  I believe that you died in my place to pay for my sin.  I know you rose from the dead proving you are God.  Right now, in the best way I know how, I'm calling on you to be my Lord and Savior and God.  Thank you Jesus for dying for me, help me now to live for you. AMEN.

Please let us know about your decision to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior!
